Provectus Recruitment are currently partnered with a leading manufacturing organisation in the UK, that design & manufacture large-scale rotating machinery, used for power generation.

This is a business that has manufactured rotating power-gen equipment for many years. They are currently going through a period of cultural change & modernisation, as well as driving technical innovation within the power-gen sector. A business that has a very established brand & some of the most reliable and efficient power-generation equipment there is to offer.

Due to ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a Design Office Manager, that will provide effective, visible, and inspirational leadership to a team of Design Engineers, ensuring design processes are followed, ensuring maximum efficiency.  

Key Responsibilities                

The Main responsibilities for this role are to oversee the entire design office (circa 13 people) and ensure that all Design related operations are conducted to the highest calibre. This role will give you the opportunity to share your knowledge, implement best practises and procedures for design engineering, particularly with SOLIDWORKS.

You will be responsible for the development and reporting of your team, helping set objectives and assessing performance and developing where necessary. You will be a mentor and an aid to both the team and the development and change of the entire design office function.

• Oversee entire design function, ensuring best practises and used and implemented where needed.
• Drive a standardized approach to engineering design best practise.
• Lead and develop the team of Design engineers, ensuring they have the tools, training, skills, and knowledge that they need.

The ideal candidate

 

• This person needs to be a SOLIDWORKS super-user. You will be sharing and implementing your knowledge around best practises for others.
• Ideally candidates will possess a relevant engineering degree, or a considerable number of years’ experience in a design/leadership related capacity.
• We are looking for candidates that have many years of experience in industry, with demonstratable experience managing design engineering related functions.
• This person needs to be an excellent communicator with very good listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
