Mechanical Engineer

Provectus Recruitment are currently partnered with a leading Smart-phone specific technology manufacturing business in the heart of Cambridge. Utilising cutting-edge materials and manufacturing processes, they have developed complex smartphone hardware applications that are used in the majority of known branded phones today.

This technology encompasses Electronics, Firmware, Mechanics, Software etc etc.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join a team of world-class engineers to design, develop and create a manufacturable product from concept to completion.

This role will play a significant part in a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering team, where days are spent developing and improving miniature actuator technology.

  • Create new product concepts, centred around mini-actuator technology
  • Design and develop concepts, working closely with Electronics teams and other technical teams to ensure the design is compatible with other parts of the technology
  • Solve complex product issues through each stage of product life cycle, design, prototype, test etc
  • Work closely with outsourced manufacturing partners all over the world

 

The Ideal Candidate

Candidates will ideally have a strong degree in a Mechanical Engineering, which is backed with several years industry experience, designing, or developing small, or mechatronic based mechanics that integrate with electronic components.

  • Versed with mechanical engineering fundamentals, mechanism design etc
  • Solidworks 3D CAD experience
  • Assertive and able to back statements with technical evidence
  • Lateral thinker, able to prioritise workload, balancing long/short-term goals
  • Willing to travel internationally if needed (Far East)
